A tribute to Kirste

From Margaret Betts:
It is with great sadness that we have learnt from John Bowman, that his beloved wife Kirste lost her battle with breast cancer on 9th February 2012.
I first met Kirste at a reception given by Breast Cancer Campaign at the House of Lords in 2009 where she had been asked to speak to us all about her experience with this horrible disease. I was reduced to tears hearing how this lovely, happy young woman had coped with being diagnosed with breast cancer.  Despite her situation, her determination and strength was amazing. I was so inspired by Kirste that I asked if she would share her story at our forthcoming annual concert and she readily agreed.
It was not until I met her again on the evening of our concert that I learned that the cancer had returned – this time in her lungs and I felt guilty for what  I had asked of her,  but Kirste was adamant that she wanted to do it to support  Boobs & Brass in raising breast cancer awareness and to encourage people to support our fund raising towards further research.
It was a very emotional evening but Kirste  brought reality to everyone in that concert hall – so much more needs to be done to try to prevent others having to face what Kirste and her loved ones were going through.
Her positive attitude and outlook  just drove us all to want to do more.
If Boobs & Brass, our friends, helpers and supporters can make just a little difference towards  trying to find a cure then I am sure that we will have achieved something.
Our deepest sympathy and sincere thoughts go to her husband John, her mother Sylvia and to all her family who are devastated  at  the loss of their beautiful, inspirational Kirste.
Heaven has gained one truly remarkable angel.
