St Mary's Church, Knighton 2014

Boobs & Brass returned to St. Mary’s Church Knighton, in Leicester, on Saturday, 21st June, after their first concert there 5 years ago.  It was the same night as Kasabian was staging an out-door concert for 50,000 people half a mile up the road and we just hoped everyone would get to us through the traffic and be able to hear us!   Gladly they did and Boobs and Brass went down a storm, with the sound of the band travelling into the balmy Solstice night air through the open Church doors.

With a full church, bathed in pink lights, the band showed why they are so loved, playing a great programme of  music, with the audience especially enjoying trying to follow Stan’s fiendish choreography for Lille Marlene and the power of Alec Miller’s bagpipes in Highland Cathedral.
The happy audience showed their appreciation at the end with a rousing standing ovation and one gentleman was overheard saying as he left, “I bet no one at the concert up the road had a better time than we did tonight” – which said it all really!
(£1150 was raised for Breast Cancer Campaign & £500 for St Mary's Church)
